The Elfstones of Shannara Character List

This does contain some spoilers, like who dies, so be prepared! And EVERYONE that had a name, including horses and whatnot, are listed here.

The list for order of appearance has only the characters that had an physical part in the story, not the people that were mentioned only in passing (such as Mirianna Ohmsford - Par and Coll's mother). The one that has the characters organized in alphabetical order has all of them.

Order of Appearance | Alphabetical Order

Aine Elessedil: the youngest of Eventine's sons, he was killed in a hunting accident. He was Amberle's father.
Allanon: the last Druid and Bremen's son who had vanished for fifty years, he sends Wil and Amberle in search for the Bloodfire and defends Arborlon in the meantime. After the Ellcrys was reborn, he disappeared.
Amantar: Maturen of the Troll army that came to aid the Elves.
Amberle Elessedil: the last female Chosen; Eventine's granddaughter. She becomes the Ellcrys after going to the Bloodfire and then back to the Gardens of life.
Ander Elessedil: Eventine's son who became the king of the Elves.
Arion Elessedil: Eventine's oldest son and the crown prince; killed by the Demons when retrieving the battle standard.
Artaq: a huge coal-black stallion that Allanon rides.
Balinor Buckhannah: dead now, he was the last of the Buckhannah line.
Brona: the Warlock Lord; destroyed by Shea Ohmsford fifty years ago.
Browork: Elder and citizen of Culhaven; he is a Dwarf sapper.
Cephelo: the Leader of the Family that Wil comes upon; he stole Artaq and the Elfstones but both were later recovered. The Reaper killed him.
Changeling: a Demon that can change into anything; it masqueraded as Manx and was killed by Eventine.
Cormac: an Elven Hunter; he was caught by the monster of the Matted Breaks.
Crispin: Captain of the Home Guard who went with Wil and Amberle; he met his death when the Reaper threw him into the gorge of the Pykon.
Dagda Mor: the leader of the Demons from the Forbidding; he wields the Staff of Power. Allanon destroyed him.
Dardan: the King's personal guard; the Changeling killed him by a lance through his heart.
Dayel: aided Shea in his quest to destroy the Warlock Lord.
Dayn: a Wing Rider, Perk's uncle; his Roc's name is Dancer.
Dilph: an Elven Hunter; he was killed by the Reaper while guarding Wil and Amberle.
Drifter: a black dog that belongs to Hebel.
Durin: aided Shea in his quest to destroy the Warlock Lord.
Ehlron Tay: ranked highest in command after Pindanon died.
Ellcrys: a tree created by the bonding of earth and life; Amberle became the new one. The Ellcrys maintains the Forbidding so that the Demons can't invade the Four Lands.
Emer Chios: the Elven First Minister.
Eretria: the adopted daughter of Cephelo; she went with Wil and Amberle to the Bloodfire. She is in love with Wil.
Eventine Elessedil: the eighty-two-year-old king of the Elves, and still the most loved. The Changling thought to kill him, but failed. At the end of the War of the Forbidding, he died.
Flick Ohmsford: Wil's granduncle.
Flyn: a messenger in Arion's service.
Gael: Eventine's personal aid.
Galaphile: an Elf who created the first Druid Council.
Hebel: a man who lives in the Wilderun and was changed into a wood carving for a short time by Mallenroh; he goes with Wil and Amberle into Safehold.
Hendel: aided Shea in his quest to destroy the Warlock Lord.
Herrol: Perk's grandfather and Dayn's father.
Jase: a Chosen killed by the Reaper.
Jerle Shananra: the receiver of the Sword of Shannara in the Second War of the Races; one of the great Elven Kings.
Kael Pindanon: the Commander of the Elven army; he died during the Demon Wars.
Katsin: an Elven Hunter; he was killed by the Reaper while guarding Wil and Amberle.
Kerrin: Captain of the Home Guard in Crispin's absence; he died in the War of the Forbidding.
Kian: an Elven Hunter; he was killed by the Reaper while inspecting the Elven outpost.
King of the Silver River: living since the time of Faerie, he saved Wil and Amberle from the Demons.
Kobold: Captain of the Black Watch.
Lauren: a Chosen that the Ellcrys spoke to of her death; killed by the Reaper.
Mallenroh: a Witch that lives in the west side of the Hollows; she captured Wil, Amberle, Eretria, and Hebel. She and her sister killed each other in the wake of real fire.
Manx: Eventine's wolfhound; the Changeling killed him.
Menion Leah: aided Shea in his quest to destroy the Warlock Lord.
Morag: Mallenroh's sister who lives in the east side of the Hollows. She and her sister killed each other in the wake of real fire.
Ped: an Elven Hunter; he was caught by the monster of the Matted Breaks.
Perk: a Wing Rider-in-training; the Roc he uses is named Genewen. He brought Wil, Amberle, and Eretria from Safehold back to Arborlon.
Reaper: the most powerful Demon; it feels a need to kill. It chases Wil and Amberle and finally met its death in Safehold because of the Elfstones.
Rhoe: the King's personal guard; the Changeling ripped his throat open.
Rin: an Elven Hunter; he was killed by the Reaper while trying to escape Drey Wood.
Shea Ohmsford: the destroyer of the Warlock Lord and Wil's grandfather.
Spitter: a wiry gray gelding that Wil rides; Demon-wolves kill it.
Stee Jans: Commander of the Legion Free Corps.
Went: the Arborlon groundskeeper; killed by the Changeling.
Wil Ohmsford: Shea's grandson; his job is to see Amberle safely to the Bloodfire and back to Arborlon so that she can become the new Ellcrys. The King of the Silver River saved him from the Demons and let him see his gardens.
Wisp: Mallenroh's servant who was once an Elf; the Reaper killed him.
